Frequently Asked Questions

What is allied health?

Allied health professions are what they sound like: allies to other healthcare professions. Typically, medical professionals in these fields provide diagnostic, technical, therapeutic, or support services, including but not limited to disorder identification, disease prevention, nutrition, rehabilitation, and many others.

These programs are different from RN, PA, and MD programs, which require more extensive schooling at a higher cost. Allied health programs exist for a wide variety of specialities, from CNAs to EMTs to Ultrasound Techs and beyond. Vitali exists to make it easy for allied health students in select specialties to complete their desired programs and feel confident on their path to a brighter future.

What does a medical assistant do?

Medical assistants are typically responsible for: recording and managing medical records, taking vital signs, labeling specimens, and helping physicians or supervising healthcare providers with patient exams. Depending on state laws and employer preferences, an MA may or may be responsible for administering medications and scheduling appointments.

Are there any prerequisites for this program?

To register for this program, you must have a high school diploma or GED equivalent. No prior studying is required.
